Bonjour Bright Audax Weekend Wrap & Pics

Clare Holdsworth

It was great to catch up with many familiar faces at Bright for the Audax Alpine Classic Australia day weekend!

While myself and Pepe spent the weekend under the shady WOR marquee at the Bonjour Bright festival with our temporary "Crew Dog" Marlowe, thousands of cyclists conquered the climbs in sweltering 35 deg C heat, including 20+ past and present WOR-ers!  It was great to catch up under the marquee and at our WOR reunion dinner following the big event!

A big congrats to all who rode, in particular to Katie U who ticked off the 250km Ace (!!!!) and Em, Leesh, Chantelle and Ashley who completed the 200km Classic!   There were also a number of first-timers doing the 130/140km (well done Janet L and Pam K amongst others!) and of course a shout-out to Frank and David D'G who conquered a bottle of sparkling merlot at Ringer Reef winery...!   I can't remember all the distances everyone cycled, but it was a lot of vertical hurt-icle!

I got out for 1 ride only - up Tawonga Gap on a MTB - hard work but well worth it!
