Cycling experience & general fitness

Please detail a little bit about your current and past cycling experience. E.g. how many km/week, altitude gain. Longest rides/tours. Experience riding in a group. General fitness level/capabilities.

Cycle Touring Experience

experience touring/multi-day rides, experience cycling in Europe or Japan. Describe where, how long etc.

Cycle Guiding/Leading Experience

Have you ever led cycle groups? Big or small. e.g. club rides or longer tours.

Route Planning and Navigation

Tell us about your abilities to navigate on the bicycle and in the van. e.g. Using google maps in foreign countries. Using RideWithGPS or similar. Do you know how to plot routes for cycle touring? Do you use a cycle computer and GPS to navigate?

Driving Experience and Skills

e.g. manual/auto, driving on right hand side of road, driving larger vehicles (vans/trucks), any demerit points, have you driven in Europe or Japan (if so, where and for how long) - i.e. mountainous areas/narrow lanes in small towns etc.

Travel Experience

e.g have you travelled to France/Spain/Italy/Japan before. Where abouts. Did you cycle in these areas

Language skills

Japanese , French, Italian, Spanish, other... To what level.

Bike Mechanic Skills

Detail what parts of a bike you are capable of maintaining (e.g. change tube, adjust gears). Or are you a fully qualified mechanic? Have you completed any courses? Do or have you worked in a bike shop. Please detail all relevant and in relation to types of bikes.

Customer Service

Tell us about any experience you have had in customer service roles? e.g. direct roles with clients/customers.

Hospitality / Catering / Food / Wine

Any experience in the hospitality/catering field? Or any particular knowledge/passion for food/wine/gastronomy in any of the regions we cycle through?

Relevant courses
