SHIKOKU &
THE SHIMANAMI KAIDO
Discover Japan on a cultural cycling tour of Shikoku, exploring its rugged interior, spectacular coastlines, river valleys and traditional villages. We begin in vibrant Osaka, with its buzzing neon lights, famous street food and lively izakaya of Dotonbori, before enjoying a loop ride around the city and a visit to Osaka Castle.
We then take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Shikoku, where we ride part of the historic 88 Temple Pilgrimage route, stay in traditional ryokan and experience the enduring traditions of rural Japan. The route finishes on the iconic Shimanami Kaido, a spectacular cycling route linking a chain of islands and suspension bridges across the Seto Inland Sea.

KYUSHU: TRADITION, ONSEN & VOLCANIC LANDSCAPES
Explore Kyushu, Japan’s southernmost main island, on a cycling tour through lush forests, rolling tea fields, historic towns and volcanic landscapes. Visit ancient temples and samurai castles, stay in traditional onsen towns and experience Beppu’s Kannawa district, where steam rises from the streets.
Regional cuisine is at the heart of this journey, from multi-course kaiseki dinners to local ramen and lively izakaya crawls. The tour culminates in the dramatic landscapes of the Aso volcanic caldera, with a climb towards the active volcano of Aso-san. This is rural Japan at its spectacular best.
