This tour is a climbers dream ride of Italy (Madonna del Ghisallo, Muro di Sormano, Passo di Gavia, Stelvio and Mortirolo and in the Dolomites, the Passo Costalunga, Gardena, Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and more if you choose!)… There are alternatives for riders who are after a flatter, scenic alternative on many days - the incredible Via Claudia Augusta cycle path - rolling downstream through apple orchards surrounded by mountain peaks, rest days in the Dolomites to enjoy the mountain scenery and take cable car rides or go for day hikes and gentle routes around the beautiful shores of Lago di Como. This tour has something for everyone, with la dolce vita at its heart!
Terrain Optional daily altitudes of 800-2000m+ per day with plenty of climbs to suit keen climbers as well as options for less climbing available with many of the climbs ‘optional’.

Bike Hire Hire is an option from a 3rd party and will pickup deliver to Como and collect in Venice for a small fee.

Start Como, Italy - Easily accessible by train from Milan or Milan Malpensa Airport. Our hotel is near the train station for easy access with bike bag/box.
Finish Venice, Italy - Easily accessible with an international airport (Direct 21 hour flights to east coast Australia) as well as high speed rail connections throughout Europe. Our hotel is located within walking distance of bus/train stations and with a water taxi on our doorstep!

Tour Highlights
We start on the shores of Lago di Como - one of the beautiful lakes of northern Italy. With leisurely cycling to warm up along the lake shore, dotted with charming villages such as and hemmed in by steep verdant hillsides. We have visit charming Bellagio "the Pearl of the Lake” and there’s the optional climb to Madonna del Ghisallo cycling chapel.
Climb the epic Stelvio pass! Made famous for being the second highest paved mountain pass in the Alps, it is a 21.5km climb from the Bormio (where we stay 2 nights) to reach an altitude of 2758m. The pass itself is breathtaking - surrounded by glaciers, snowcapped peaks and the whistling of the elusive marmot!
The incredible food and wine! Gastronomy is a passion of ours and throughout the Tour we will taste the local specialities, take you to our favourite restaurants, do a prosecco tasting and indulge in La Dolce Vita! We ride through apple groves and vineyards, enjoy apple strudel in the Dolomites and Aperol Spritz in beautiful piazzas in the evenings.
Spend 3 nights in the Dolomites! Conquer the iconic “Sella Ronda”. It’s a cyclist’s paradise! You may also like to relax or take a day off the bike - take a ride in a cable car and enjoy a walk high up in the Dolomites to a refugi for an unforgettable lunch with a view. There are options to suit strong climbers and those after a rest day or two!
